Political Party Funding act
South Africa’s Political Party Funding Act came into operation in April 2021. The new law will regulate the public and private funding of political parties to improve transparency and accountability in government.
It requires any donations to be disclosed by parties and donors to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) and prohibits donations by foreign governments or agencies.
